We spend our lives living in fear of what others think. We are afraid of saying what we want to say, doing what we want to do, and in some cases, thinking what we want to think. All because someone out there might have something to say about it.
But if what we say, do, and think are just the words, actions, and thoughts of someone else, are we even here?
The irony is that in silencing ourselves, we end up dishonoring the very people and ideas we are attempting to accommodate. If you do not own your words, acts, and thoughts, then who is it that your spouse is loving? Who is it that your friends are laughing with? Who is it that your church is praying for? Who is that?
Well, it’s not you.
